It converts the factory LS M12x1.5 female coolant sensor port to a standard 1/8\ NPT thread, allowing you to use older-style mechanical or electric temperature sensors from SBC or BBC engines. Made from aircraft-grade billet aluminum right here in the USA, this adapter is seriously high quality - Z Whip is AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified and actually manufactures parts for Boeing and the US military, so you know it's built to last. The adapter accommodates sensors that need 1.12 inches or less depth, and it comes with a sealing washer for a leak-free installation. It threads into the standard LS coolant sensor locations - driver side near the front or passenger side near the rear of the cylinder heads. Compatible with all LS series engines from 1997-2014 (Gen III and IV small block Chevys) including LS1, LS3, LSX, Vortec 5.3L, 4.8L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L, LQ4, L76 and more. Perfect for when you're swapping an LS into an older vehicle and want to retain the original gauges or aftermarket temperature sensors.
