The biggest upgrade is the built-in Arca-Swiss compatible dovetail rail. This means you can slide it directly into any ball head, clamp, or panorama head that uses the super popular Arca-Swiss standard – no extra plate needed. It's CNC machined from aluminum and hard-anodized, so it's tough and protects against bumps and scratches.
It also has two safety stop screws on the sides for extra security (no accidental drops, please!). On the bottom, you'll find both 1/4\ and 3/8\ screw holes for more mounting options. There's even a built-in QD (Quick Disconnect) strap hole if you like to use a sling. Important note: This is made for the newer Z-mount 70-200mm f/2.8. It will also fit the Z 100-400mm, Z 400mm f/4.5, and Z 600mm f/6.3 lenses. But it will NOT fit the older F-mount Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G. So make sure you've got the right glass before ordering! It's a simple swap that makes using your heavy lens on a tripod much smoother and more secure.
