Tired of swinging an axe to make kindling? This GREENWISH log splitter drill bit is a clever and much safer tool for small-scale firewood prep. It's a heavy-duty carbon steel screw cone (available in a 32mm / 1.3-inch size) that you simply chuck into a powerful electric drill (corded is best for this job). The hex shank ensures it won't slip in the drill. To use, you just press the spinning cone into the end of a log – the aggressive screw thread pulls the bit in and the conical shape forces the wood fibers apart, splitting the log cleanly down the middle. It works great on most softwoods and many hardwoods, though very knotty or extremely large, dense logs might be a challenge. It's a single, solid piece of metal, so it's tough and built to last. The handle area has grooves for a better grip. It's perfect for around the house, at a campsite, or on a small farm where you need to process a basket of firewood for a fireplace, fire pit, or wood stove. Much faster and less physically demanding than an axe, and a lot safer too, especially if you have kids around. Just remember to wear safety glasses and gloves, and make sure your drill is up to the task!
