Connections is an Elder-led church. Each of our elders is of equal authority.  Our Teaching Elders typically lead our Sunday morning services and they are also on staff. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Kenny Banks
Kenny Banks

Elder

Kenny is a life long resident of Berkeley County except for eight years living in Morgantown West Virginia and one year in Melbourne Florida. He is a graduate from Musselman High School, West Virginia University, and West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He was a twenty nine year member of the 167th WVANG / USAF, Commander of the 167th Aerial Port and retired as a Lt. Col.. He is married to the former Rhonda Smallwood of Inwood. Kenny and Rhonda have two children Sarah Langford and Christopher Banks and two grandchildren Grant and Haven Langford. Kenny has been part of Connections Community Church since it’s inception. Kenny enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.

Kenny helps with the third and fourth grade class in Kids Connect, serves on the finance committee and enjoys helping with any C3WV projects.

Mark Bennett
Mark Bennett

Elder

Mark grew up in Mt. Savage, MD. until age 18 and he then went to college in Springfield, MO.  It was in Springfield MO. that he met Debbie Harmon and in 1978, they got married and have one son, David.  He and his family moved to the Inwood area in 1985 and have lived there ever since.  Mark is a graduate of Liberty University and earned a master’s degree in psychology, family counseling.  He has been a member of Connections Community Church since 2013, helps in the production operation of Connections Community Church and other activities as needed.  Mark enjoys traveling, playing chess, reading, and spending time with his friends and family.

Jason Bentley

Jason has lived in Berkeley county for 25 years. He graduated from James Wood High School in nearby Winchester, Va. Jason and his wife Beth have been happily married since 1997. They have two grown kids Ashley and Brandon. Jason is a master electrician and local electrical business owner. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, shooting, hunting, and playing guitar.       

Jason has been a member of Connections since 2012 and his primary role is leading worship and production team ministry’s. 

Tim Butler

Teaching Elder

Tim is a local product and has been a citizen of Inwood for most of his life. He is a graduate of Shepherd College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism/History and has been in full-time ministry for over 30 years. He has been married for 36 years to his lovely wife Colleen and they have three grown and wonderful children– Brooke, Cherie, and Jordan and five grandchildren. He has been part of Connections since its organization in early 20ll. Tim enjoys spending time with his wife, kids and their spouses, and his grandchildren. He also loves playing tennis when he gets the opportunity.

Tim wears many hats at the church, but his main area of oversight is the day-to-day pastoral ministry of the church and preaching. If you have any questions about the church in general, please feel free to get in touch with him.

Dave was born in Ridley Park, PA. and moved to Inwood, WV at age 3 and grew up in Inwood WV right behind the Musselman Apple Plant. Dave is a Musselman graduate and proudly served 10yrs 9mos in the United States Navy. He is now working at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Dave and his wife Carol have been happily married for 40 years and have two sons, David and Steven, five grandchildren, and two wonderful daughter inlaws.
Dave is one of the original elders that started Connections and loves serving the Lord through taking care of the facility.
In his spare time Dave enjoys camping, hunting, spending time with family, and fixing things in his garage

Jym Winberg
Jym Winberg

Elder

Jym is originally from NY state but has been in the Eastern Panhandle of WV since 2009. He has been married to Maureen since 1996. Jym and Maureen have been on several missions trips around the world. Most notably they spent six months in Brussels, Belgium, 2001, as short term missionaries. It was here that Jym realized his gift of speaking and preaching.

In 2005 they moved to Bluefield, WV to help a friend who was pastoring a local church. They finally moved to the Inwood area, so Jym could work at the 167th Air Guard base. He has since retired after a combined 26 years in the Air Force and the Air Guard.

Since retirement, Jym has been working at Connections as a janitor and administrative director. He serves as an Ambassador with Fellowship of Christian Athletes in South Berkeley and preaches at several local churches whenever the opportunity presents itself.
